Kenyans will have to wait longer for the autopsy report on the late Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo.
Pathologists conducting the postmortem
said that the report will be out in 8 to 10 weeks.
They added that further tests on samples will be carried out.
The autopsy carried out by seven pathologists took over five hours.
The exercise was conducted on Tuesday at the Lee Funeral home after the arrival of family’s pathologist from the United Kingdom.
The family on Monday requested for the postmortem to be pushed to Tuesday to allow the pathologist to take part in the exercise.
The Criminal Investigations Department has launched investigations into Mutula’s death with Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko appointing a team of prosecutors to assist the police in the probe.

The late Mutula Kilonzo loved the law. In fact he adored the law and wouldn't miss an opportunity to quote it where appropriate. The late Makueni Senator never minced his words and here now is Mutula Kilonzo in his own words.

In Summary
"It was so unlike Hon. Mutula to cut such a figure. He walked into the
Chamber then walked out without talking to anyone. He looked almost sorrowful,"
said Prof Kindiki on behalf of the Government side in the Senate.
Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki in his condolences to the family of
Senator Mutula Kilonzo recalled how surprised he was to see his Makueni
counterpart cut a solitary and almost sorrowful demeanor in the House last
week.
"It was so unlike Hon Mutula to cut such a figure. He walked into the Chamber
then walked out without talking to anyone. He looked almost sorrowful," said
Prof Kindiki on behalf of the Government side in the Senate.
"As the Majority, we looked forward to work with him in the House and we were
well aware that he would be one of those who would keep us (government) on our
toes. And although he was a member of the Minority, we also hoped to benefit
from his brilliance and clarity of mind. It is unfortunate he has died even
before he made his maiden speech in the House," Prof Kindiki, the Tharaka
Senator said.
"On behalf of the government side in the Senate we express our deepest
sympathy and condolences to the family, friends and the people of Makueni
county. Mutula was first and foremost a great and brilliant lawyer who has
always spoken his mind even on controversial issues," the Senate Majority Leader
said.
Speakers of the National Assembly and Senate Mr. Justin Muturi and Ekwe
Ethuro have also sent messages of condolences to the family of the late Makueni
senator.
