Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia on Tuesday criticised the Judicial Service commission (JSC) over its decision to send Registrar of the Judiciary Gladys Shollei on compulsory leave.
Mr Kimemia said investigations against Mrs Shollei should have taken place while she was in office.
"JSC should be fair enough to Mrs Shollei, investigations should be conducted while she is still in office because they're based on allegations,” Mr Kimemia said on Twitter.
Mr Kimemia defended public officers who are hounded out of office on claims of corruption.
“The dignity of public servants should be protected while investigations are ongoing. In the event they are found innocent their names will still bear the tags of 'alleged' corruption. Then this means that public servants are under attack from forces of corruption," he said.
He maintained that public servants need to be given an opportunity to defend themselves from claims of corruption before action can be taken against them.

PLEAD FOR PATIENCE
Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has warned against statements on the matter and pleaded for patience to allow the JSC time to adequately dispense the matter.
“It is not a political process. Those that have facts to contribute are invited to do so. Everybody else should give our processes a chance to work,” Dr Mutunga said.
The two committees are expected to meet to plan the scope of the probe expected to touch on a number procurement and other issues raised against her.

City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi chairs the Finance and Administration meeting while Justice Isaac Lenaola is in charge of the committee on Human Resource Management.
“We will hold joint meetings to look at the issues raised. We will stick only to the truth and make decisions based on the findings," Mr Ahmednasir said and denied being behind Mrs Shollei’s woes.
On Monday, the JSC ordered investigations into claims of impropriety on employment, administration, finance and corporate governance of the judiciary.
On Finance, the focus will be on a number of recent procurements including the Sh700 million leasing of Elgon Court building meant to accommodate senior judiciary staff including judges.
Complaints over irregular employment have also been raised while on administrative issues allegations of unsanctioned disciplinary actions against staff have also been raised.
